SUMMARY:David Cross: Worst Daddy in the World Tour w/ Sean Patton
DESCRIPTION:Since its earliest days\, comedian David Cross’ career was defined by two things: adoration by critics and disinterest by mainstream audiences. His stature in the alternative comedy world made him one of the subgenre’s brightest stars\, seemingly ripe for breakout success for literally decades. Highly intelligent\, brutally honest\, and often confrontational\, Cross never seemed to care too much about conventional success. To his apparent amusement\, these potential breakout roles came and went without acceptance by the general public. Nevertheless\, the size of the cult following that he earned from “Arrested Development” (Fox\, 2003-06) and “Mr. Show with Bob and David” (HBO\, 1995-98) eventually resembled conventional success in everything but name. \n\nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:The Zombies: Life Is A Merry-Go-Round Tour
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:00pm | Show 8:00pm | All Ages \nIconic British psychedelic pop legends The Zombies have returned to celebrate their long-awaited Induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  After receiving their 4th nomination in 5 years\, the support for The Zombies’ induction among the public and their peers was undeniable – the band placed 4th in the public online poll with over 330\,000 votes\, while even fellow nominee John Prine called for their induction before his own in a Billboard interview.  On March 29\, 2019 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center\, The Zombies joined Stevie Nicks\, Radiohead\, The Cure\, Def Leppard\, Janet Jackson\, and Roxy Music as the 2019 Class of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  Fittingly\, the Induction Ceremony took place exactly 50 years to-the-day after The Zombies’ classic “Time of the Season” first hit #1 on the charts in America. \nThe second U.K. band following the Beatles to score a #1 hit in America\, The Zombies infiltrated the airwaves with the sophisticated melodies\, breathy vocals\, choral back-up harmonies and jazzy keyboard riffs of their 1960’s hit singles “She’s Not There” and “Tell Her No.” Ironically\, the group broke-up just prior to achieving their greatest success – the worldwide chart-topping single “Time of the Season\,” from their swan-song album  Odessey & Oracle\, ranked #100 in Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time’.  To this day\, generations of new bands have cited The Zombies’ work as pop touchstones\, and the band continues to be embraced by new generations of fans. \nFollowing the break-up of the original band\, lead vocalist Colin Blunstone went on to develop an acclaimed solo career (with hits including “Say You Don’t Mind\,” “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”\, and “Old & Wise” with Alan Parsons Project) and keyboardist/songwriter Rod Argent rocked ‘70’s arenas with his eponymous band ARGENT (“Hold Your Head Up\,” “God Gave Rock ‘n’ Roll To You”)\, but the legend of The Zombies continued to take on a life of its own.  By the start of the new Millennium\, Blunstone and Argent were inspired to resurrect The Zombies.

SUMMARY:Buddy Guy With Colin James
DESCRIPTION:Buddy Guy is one of the most celebrated blues guitarists of his generation (arguably the most celebrated)\, possessing a sound and style that embodies the traditions of classic Chicago blues while also embracing the fire and flash of rock & roll. Guy began his recording career in 1959 and scored his first hit in 1960 with “First Time I Met the Blues.” He spent much of the next decade a well-regarded journeyman\, praised by peers and blues fans without breaking through to a larger audience; his best album of the ’60s originally didn’t even have his name on it (Junior Wells‘ Hoodoo Man Blues). However\, he found an audience in Europe in the ’70s and rock fans began discovering his work through the endorsements of noted fans Eric Clapton\, Jimi Hendrix\, Jeff Beck\, Keith Richards\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, and Mark Knopfler. Guy released little material in the ’80s (his best-known album of the decade was 1981’s Stone Crazy\, one of the few that received an American release)\, as he focused on live work. But in 1991\, Guy finally enjoyed a commercial breakthrough with Damn Right\, I’ve Got the Blues\, and since then he’s been one of the biggest names in contemporary blues\, touring frequently and cutting new material on a regular basis. In the 21st century\, Guy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame\, kept recording (2001’s Sweet Tea\, 2008’s Skin Deep\, and 2010’s Living Proof are high points from this period)\, played an annual residency at his Chicago nightclub Legends\, and even played at the White House\, inviting President Barack Obama on-stage for a duet on “Sweet Home Chicago.” \nMore info:\nhttps://www.rialtotheatre.com/events/buddy-guy/ \n
