SUMMARY:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Tucson
DESCRIPTION:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360º digital art exhibition in Tucson that invites you to step into the universe of the Dutch genius\, Vincent van Gogh. This captivating experience\, a previous winner of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award\, is brought to you by the organizers of a collection of widely successful exhibitions present in cities across Europe\, Asia\, and the Americas. \nLook at the images and videos from their website to get a better sense of what the event is. https://vangoghexpo.com/tucson. The first rooms have Van Gough painting recreations alongside text about his life. While these recreations of Van Gough’s paintings don’t really do them justice\, as they are projections on flat canvas (colors are not very accurate\, there is no paint texture) the whole experience is less about appreciating fine art than it is about getting fun photo-ops and selfies with pretty backgrounds. It feels like a fun\, trippy art exhibit to appeal to the masses – not high-brow in any way. One of the best parts is a large room where you watch animated versions of Van Gough paintings projected across the walls and floor. When Starry Night is projected\, you can see little animated shooting stars. At points it feels a bit cheesy\, but all still fun. The optional 10 minute virtual reality bit at the end (additional $5/person) is definitely worth doing and just as fun as the large room with projections\, if not better.\n \nOpening hours: (time slots available every half hour)\nMonday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.)\nTuesday and Wednesday: closed\nFriday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSaturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSunday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.) \nDuration: approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes \nAll ages. (But kids will likely get bored.) \nBuy tickets

SUMMARY:Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks: Two Icons One Night
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss your chance to see Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks perform live in concert on their co-headlining tour\, Two Icons One Night. While they each have their own separate sets\, the two musicians have also performed a couple duets at these shows. \nDoor Time: 5:30 PM \n\nGet Tickets\n\n \n\n\nBilly Joel\nLegendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years\, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward — if they’re willing to head out to New York’s Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there’s demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978\, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013. \nNew York isn’t alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S.\, and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including “Piano Man\,” “New York State of Mind\,” “Just the Way You Are\,” “You May Be Right\,” “Pressure\,” “Uptown Girl\,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire\,” and  “The River of Dreams\,” Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It’s a decision he’s stuck with; it’s been more than 20 years since he’s recorded a new pop or rock album. He’s composed new classical material instead\, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert. \nStevie Nicks\nBest known as the mysterious and mystical powerhouse lead voice of Fleetwood Mac\, Stevie Nicks is just as much the entrancing chanteuse as a solo songstress. Her latest album\, “In Your Dreams\,” was released in 2011. Her singular sartorial style\, featuring long robes\, lace\, scarves and wild hair\, is as iconic as her sound\, and that\, coupled with long-held rumors of her Wiccan interests\, helped create a remarkably haunting stage presence. Though she tours infrequently and creates new work rarely\, she remains one of the most inspirational women in rock\, with bands like the Dixie Chicks and Destiny’s Child and artists Mary J. Blige and Florence Welch idolizing her inimitable style. \n\n\n\nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:Holly-themed Fused Glass Mosaics class at Botanical Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Paint a holly themed fused glass tile in the spirit of the Holidays.  Paint them in traditional greens and reds or paint them in bright colors and appreciate the joy of a unique palette.  All materials provided.  Tiles are ready to hang when painting is finished.  Each tile is approximately 12” by 7”. \nClass capacity is 16 – register early! \nRegister Here \n\n\n\n\n\n\n$65 Non-Member / $52 Member \n\nMaterials provided \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor:\nDee Taube \n\n\nI have always loved art\, so while growing up I took all the art classes that were offered in school. I was drawn to art beyond being content to just appreciate it\, but during my working career making time for art seemed a luxury to be put on hold for the future. Somehow I found jewelry making and fell in love with it. It enabled me to work with color\, design\, and texture\, it was a great stress-reliever\, an outlet for my creativity\, and it nurtured my soul. When I became a member of an artists’ co-op in Colorado Springs\, I was constantly admiring the work created by the glass artists there\, and one day one of them offered to teach me how to fuse glass. I was hooked. Creating fused glass art has taught me to appreciate all art even more than I did before. It is always a learning experience. But when everything goes right\, the end result brings me joy and nurtures my soul\, as I always hope it will for those who see my art. Learning\, enjoying and creating art is an ongoing journey. Each new piece guides its own design and helps me grow as an artist. I love it. \n\n\n\nRefund & Cancellation Policy\nNo refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. No refunds will be issued for special events. \nWe reserve the right to cancel Community Classes due to insufficient registration\, garden closure\, or inclement weather\, in which case\, participants will receive a full refund. People with disabilities should make requests for accommodation as early as possible to allow time to make appropriate arrangements.
