SUMMARY:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Tucson
DESCRIPTION:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360º digital art exhibition in Tucson that invites you to step into the universe of the Dutch genius\, Vincent van Gogh. This captivating experience\, a previous winner of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award\, is brought to you by the organizers of a collection of widely successful exhibitions present in cities across Europe\, Asia\, and the Americas. \nLook at the images and videos from their website to get a better sense of what the event is. https://vangoghexpo.com/tucson. The first rooms have Van Gough painting recreations alongside text about his life. While these recreations of Van Gough’s paintings don’t really do them justice\, as they are projections on flat canvas (colors are not very accurate\, there is no paint texture) the whole experience is less about appreciating fine art than it is about getting fun photo-ops and selfies with pretty backgrounds. It feels like a fun\, trippy art exhibit to appeal to the masses – not high-brow in any way. One of the best parts is a large room where you watch animated versions of Van Gough paintings projected across the walls and floor. When Starry Night is projected\, you can see little animated shooting stars. At points it feels a bit cheesy\, but all still fun. The optional 10 minute virtual reality bit at the end (additional $5/person) is definitely worth doing and just as fun as the large room with projections\, if not better.\n \nOpening hours: (time slots available every half hour)\nMonday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.)\nTuesday and Wednesday: closed\nFriday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSaturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSunday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.) \nDuration: approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes \nAll ages. (But kids will likely get bored.) \nBuy tickets

SUMMARY:“Weird Al” Yankovic (with special guest Emo Philips)
DESCRIPTION:Almost four years after his first foray into unfamiliar concert territory with his highly-acclaimed Ridiculously Self-Indulgent\, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour\, “Weird Al” Yankovic is pressing his luck again\, this time with The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent\, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. The tour marks Weird Al’s long-anticipated return to the concert stage after his hugely successful Strings Attached Tour in 2019 where he performed each night alongside a full symphony orchestra. \nOnce again drawing from his back catalogue of 14 studio albums\, Weird Al promises to deliver a different set list every night\, with no two shows the same. As before\, rather than focusing on the hits from his career\, the show will feature Yankovic’s non-parody material – the somewhat more obscure pastiches and original songs that have largely escaped the pop culture radar but are adored by his long-time fans. And like the last Vanity Tour\, he is leaving behind the high-octane theatrics that he’s known for and going bare-bones – no costumes\, no props\, no video screens… just Al and his band of almost four decades in smaller\, more intimate venues\, hanging out on stage\, playing music. \n—————- \n“Weird Al” Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time. A five-time Grammy winner\, his 2014 release Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200. He is one of only five artists to have had Top 40 singles in each of the last four decades\, the other four being Michael Jackson\, Madonna\, U2\, and Kenny On August 27\, 2018 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce awarded Weird Al with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. \nLegendary comedian Emo Philips has performed over 7000 stand-up comedy shows across the globe\, including a two-week theater run in London’s West End. Career highlights include his acclaimed comedy album E=MO Squared and the hour-long HBO special Emo Philips Live at the Hasty Pudding Theatre. Emo is especially proud\, however\, of when he got to demonstrate the proper use of a table saw to Weird Al in the film UHF. \nMore info:\nhttps://foxtucson.com/event/weird-al-yankovic/

SUMMARY:The Zombies: Life Is A Merry-Go-Round Tour
DESCRIPTION:Doors 7:00pm | Show 8:00pm | All Ages \nIconic British psychedelic pop legends The Zombies have returned to celebrate their long-awaited Induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  After receiving their 4th nomination in 5 years\, the support for The Zombies’ induction among the public and their peers was undeniable – the band placed 4th in the public online poll with over 330\,000 votes\, while even fellow nominee John Prine called for their induction before his own in a Billboard interview.  On March 29\, 2019 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center\, The Zombies joined Stevie Nicks\, Radiohead\, The Cure\, Def Leppard\, Janet Jackson\, and Roxy Music as the 2019 Class of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  Fittingly\, the Induction Ceremony took place exactly 50 years to-the-day after The Zombies’ classic “Time of the Season” first hit #1 on the charts in America. \nThe second U.K. band following the Beatles to score a #1 hit in America\, The Zombies infiltrated the airwaves with the sophisticated melodies\, breathy vocals\, choral back-up harmonies and jazzy keyboard riffs of their 1960’s hit singles “She’s Not There” and “Tell Her No.” Ironically\, the group broke-up just prior to achieving their greatest success – the worldwide chart-topping single “Time of the Season\,” from their swan-song album  Odessey & Oracle\, ranked #100 in Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time’.  To this day\, generations of new bands have cited The Zombies’ work as pop touchstones\, and the band continues to be embraced by new generations of fans. \nFollowing the break-up of the original band\, lead vocalist Colin Blunstone went on to develop an acclaimed solo career (with hits including “Say You Don’t Mind\,” “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”\, and “Old & Wise” with Alan Parsons Project) and keyboardist/songwriter Rod Argent rocked ‘70’s arenas with his eponymous band ARGENT (“Hold Your Head Up\,” “God Gave Rock ‘n’ Roll To You”)\, but the legend of The Zombies continued to take on a life of its own.  By the start of the new Millennium\, Blunstone and Argent were inspired to resurrect The Zombies.
