SUMMARY:Get the LED Out\, A Celebration of the Mighty ZEP (A Led Zeppelin Tribute/Cover Band)
DESCRIPTION:From the bombastic and epic\, to the folky and mystical\, Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians\, intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live like you’ve never heard before! Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal\, GTLO re-creates songs\, in all their depth and glory\, with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album…GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents\, GTLO brings what the audience wants…a high-energy Zeppelin concert with honest\, heart-thumping intensity. \nGet The Led Out offers a strong focus on Led Zeppelin’s pivotal early years. They touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom if ever heard in concert. GTLO also includes a special acoustic set\, with Zep favorites “Tangerine”\, and the “Battle of Evermore” being performed in its’ original instrumentation. \nMore info

SUMMARY:Annular Solar Eclipse
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 14th\, the moon will pass in front of the sun starting at 8:12am. It will partially eclipse the sun (peaking at 9:33am\, covering about 78% of the sun)\, and finish at 11:05am. \nDo NOT look directly at the sun!! This could severely damage your vision. Viewing any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens\, binoculars\, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury. \nMore info on how to watch here. \nIn Tucson\, you can visit the Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium to view the partial eclipse.\nThe partial annular solar eclipse is coming to Tucson on the morning of October 14th\, 2023! Locally\, we will see about 78% of the Sun covered by the Moon. Gather your friends and hang out on the UA Mall outside Flandrau for the partial ‘ring of fire’ eclipse. Look out for solar telescopes nearby and feel free to take a break inside Flandrau and enjoy reduced science exhibit admission of only $5. Following the eclipse\, there will be solar-themed planetarium shows throughout the day. \nSolar Eclipse Glasses and Telescopes: \n\nCertified solar viewing glasses (with a fun Flandrau design and logo!) are available on location now and during the event for $5.\nDepending on demand\, an additional cash-only line may form and is typically much faster than card payments for solar glasses.\nSolar telescopes will be on site free of charge for shared use on the day of the eclipse.

SUMMARY:Annie Griffiths - Through the Lens: Creating a Ripple
DESCRIPTION:Join Annie\, a world-renowned photojournalist\, as she shares the secrets to connecting with people from all walks of life. With over 30 years of experience and having worked in more than 150 countries\, Annie has gained a unique perspective on what we all have in common. Her message is simple yet powerful: despite our cultural and societal differences\, we share the same fundamental desires: security\, shelter\, good health\, the dignity of work\, and a brighter future for our children. At a pivotal point in her life\, Annie began to rethink her own legacy and decided to lean into the one truth she has discovered over and over: People who have the least\, often give the most. In response\, she founded Ripple Effect Images\, a nonprofit organization on a mission to shine a light on the inspiring work of small organizations that are making a big impact in the lives of women and children around the world. \n“If each of us can search inside ourselves for a little acorn of time or passion or ability\, and find creative ways to offer that gift\, a forest begins to grow.” \nMore info
