SUMMARY:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Tucson
DESCRIPTION:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360º digital art exhibition in Tucson that invites you to step into the universe of the Dutch genius\, Vincent van Gogh. This captivating experience\, a previous winner of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award\, is brought to you by the organizers of a collection of widely successful exhibitions present in cities across Europe\, Asia\, and the Americas. \nLook at the images and videos from their website to get a better sense of what the event is. https://vangoghexpo.com/tucson. The first rooms have Van Gough painting recreations alongside text about his life. While these recreations of Van Gough’s paintings don’t really do them justice\, as they are projections on flat canvas (colors are not very accurate\, there is no paint texture) the whole experience is less about appreciating fine art than it is about getting fun photo-ops and selfies with pretty backgrounds. It feels like a fun\, trippy art exhibit to appeal to the masses – not high-brow in any way. One of the best parts is a large room where you watch animated versions of Van Gough paintings projected across the walls and floor. When Starry Night is projected\, you can see little animated shooting stars. At points it feels a bit cheesy\, but all still fun. The optional 10 minute virtual reality bit at the end (additional $5/person) is definitely worth doing and just as fun as the large room with projections\, if not better.\n \nOpening hours: (time slots available every half hour)\nMonday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.)\nTuesday and Wednesday: closed\nFriday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSaturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSunday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.) \nDuration: approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes \nAll ages. (But kids will likely get bored.) \nBuy tickets

SUMMARY:David Cross - The End of The Beginning of The End
DESCRIPTION:David Cross – The End of The Beginning of The End Tour \nwith Special Guest Sean Patton \nSince its earliest days\, comedian David Cross’ career was defined by two things: adoration by critics and disinterest by mainstream audiences. His stature in the alternative comedy world made him one of the subgenre’s brightest stars\, seemingly ripe for breakout success for literally decades. Highly intelligent\, brutally honest\, and often confrontational\, Cross never seemed to care too much about conventional success. To his apparent amusement\, these potential breakout roles came and went without acceptance by the general public. Nevertheless\, the size of the cult following that he earned from “Arrested Development” (Fox\, 2003-06) and “Mr. Show with Bob and David” (HBO\, 1995-98) eventually resembled conventional success in everything but name. \n\nDoors\n6:00 PM \nShow\n7:00 PM \n\n\nAge Policy\n18+ \n\n\nGet Tickets

SUMMARY:Curiosity Talks: Dia de Los Muertos Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:Dia de Los Muertos is a highly celebrated and significant holiday held throughout Mexico\, Latin America\, and the Southwest. It is a day when homage is paid with prayers\, offerings of food and the building of altars to those who have gone before us. Join Guerrero and his unique masked characters as they celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with hilarious and moving storytelling\, turning stereotypes on their heads. Among the characters making appearances are the poetry-spouting “El Vato Poeta\,” the flirtatious “La Comadre\,” the wise “El Abuelito\,” and other beloved characters that Guerrero\, a prolific playwright\, has created to express the humor and sadness of our lives. Guerrero’s storytelling puts life into perspective in a delightful and engaging way\, helping us accept and even laugh at our most primal fears about death. \nStick around after the presentation for drinks and conversation with fellow attendees! \nThis free program is made possible by Arizona Humanities. \nDoors open at 5:00 pm\nWilson Room\nFree and Open to the Public\n \nRegistration Required

SUMMARY:Three Dog Night
DESCRIPTION:Legendary band\, THREE DOG NIGHT\, now in its 6th decade\, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974\, no other group achieved more top 10 hits\, moved more records\, or sold more concert tickets than THREE DOG NIGHT. \nTHREE DOG NIGHT hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today\, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out\, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures — songs like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come)”\, “Joy to the World”\, “Black and White”\, “Shambala” and “One” serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize THREE DOG NIGHT’s continuing popularity. \nBoasting chart and sales records that remain virtually unmatched in popular music\, THREE DOG NIGHT had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits\, including 3 #1 singles\, 11 Top 10’s\, 18 straight Top 20’s\, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop\, rock\, and country). Its records continue to sell around the world\, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan\, Canada\, Holland\, England\, Germany\, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of THREE DOG NIGHT records have been sold through the years. \nCreated in 1968 by Danny Hutton\, THREE DOG NIGHT maintains an aggressive\, year-round touring schedule of over 90 dates a year\, performing their hit filled concerts for multi-generational audiences. The band’s now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a “three dog night”. \nThe band recorded songs of the best and largely undiscovered new songwriters of its time including Harry Nilsson\, Randy Newman\, Elton John\, Laura Nyro\, Paul Williams\, and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group’s eclectic taste\, combined with its ability to recognize and record hits in a unique\, distinctive\, and appealing style\, resulted in THREE DOG NIGHT dominating the charts for years. The band’s music transcends time\, bringing together both new and longtime audiences alike. \nTHREE DOG NIGHT demonstrates its eclectic song choices once again with the new material being recorded for an upcoming album release. One of the new tracks\, “Prayer of the Children” was discovered by Hutton who created an a cappella arrangement\, so Three Dog Night that for the first time in the history of THREE DOG NIGHT\, the vocals of all six members of the band are featured. The song is currently part of their live concert set and quickly becoming an audience favorite. \nMarking over 50 years on the road\, THREE DOG NIGHT continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theatres\, performing arts centers\, fairs\, festivals\, corporate events\, and casinos. Since 1986\, the band has performed nearly 3\,000 shows including two Super Bowls.

SUMMARY:Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken Tour
DESCRIPTION:Public on-sale: Fri. April 12 at 10am \n\nMelissa Etheridge stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album\, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show. For several years\, her popularity grew around such memorable originals as “Bring Me Some Water\,” “No Souvenirs” and “Ain’t It Heavy\,” for which she won a Grammy in 1992. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album\, Yes I Am (1993). The collection featured the massive hits\, “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window\,” a searing song of longing that brought Etheridge her second Grammy® Award for Best Female Rock Performance. In 1995\, Etheridge issued her highest charting album\, Your Little Secret\, which was distinguished by the hit single\, “I Want to Come Over.” Her astounding success that year led to Etheridge receiving the Songwriter of the Year honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards in 1996. \nKnown for her confessional lyrics and raspy\, smoky vocals\, Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singers for more than two decades. In February 2007\, Melissa Etheridge celebrated a career milestone with a victory in the “Best Song” category at the Academy Awards for “I Need to Wake Up\,” written for the Al Gore documentary on global warming\, An Inconvenient Truth. As a performer and songwriter\, Etheridge has shown herself to be an artist who has never allowed “inconvenient truths” to keep her down. Earlier in her recording career\, Etheridge acknowledged her sexual orientation when it was considered less than prudent to do so. In October 2004\, Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer\, a health battle that\, with her typical tenacity\, she won. Despite losing her hair from chemotherapy\, Etheridge appeared on the 2005 Grammy® telecast to sing “Piece of My Heart” in tribute to Janis Joplin. By doing so she gave hope to many women afflicted with the disease. \nOn October 7\, 2016 Melissa Etheridge released Memphis Rock & Soul\, her first album since 2014’s critically lauded This Is M.E. Recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis\, the album received stellar reviews from the likes of Entertainment Weekly\, Parade\, Rolling Stone\, American Songwriter and more. She followed that up with the release of The Medicine Show in April\, 2019. For The Medicine Show\, Melissa reunited with celebrated producer John Shanks and sounds as rousing as ever\, bringing a new level of artistry to her 15th studio recording. The Medicine Show deals with universal themes of renewal\, reconciliation\, reckoning\, compassion and\, most profoundly\, healing. \nIn June of 2020\, Etheridge launched The Etheridge Foundation to support groundbreaking scientific research into effective new treatments for opioid use disorder. The Foundation works towards advancing treatment approaches that address the root causes of opioid abuse and make available better\, more effective solutions for people to truly heal their opioid use disorder. \nOn September 17\, 2021\, Melissa released a new album called One Way Out. The 9-track album is a collection of songs Etheridge wrote in the late ’80s and early ’90s that never made the cut….until now! The time was finally right\, and fans finally got a deeper glimpse to who Melissa was then. \nOctober 2022 saw Melissa’s return to the theatre with her one woman show\, My Window — A Journey Through Life. The critically acclaimed\, sold-out run premiered at New World Stages on October 13 and opened at Circle In the Square Theatre on Broadway in September 2023.

DESCRIPTION:Over 30 years ago\, the Town of Patagonia held its first fall festival to showcase extraordinary talent and artistry against the beautiful backdrop of its community\, nestled at over 4\,000 feet in the mountains of Southeast Arizona. \nEach year\, the festival attracts more than 15\,000 visitors to Patagonia’s lovely tree-shaded park in the center of town over a festive weekend\, presented by the Sky Islands Tourism Association in partnership with SAACA. \nThe weekend will feature the main event at Patagonia Town Park with 120 artisans\, food vendors\, exhibitors\, live music\, entertainment\, and picnic fun. Additional programming is designed to support businesses and tourism throughout the weekend. We encourage the community to visit the artisan market and visit local wineries\, shops\, outdoor spaces\, restaurants\, and regional experiences that only Patagonia\, Sonoita & Elgin can offer. \nLearn more about the festival vendors\, food\, and entertainment here.
