SUMMARY:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Tucson
DESCRIPTION:Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 360º digital art exhibition in Tucson that invites you to step into the universe of the Dutch genius\, Vincent van Gogh. This captivating experience\, a previous winner of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award\, is brought to you by the organizers of a collection of widely successful exhibitions present in cities across Europe\, Asia\, and the Americas. \nLook at the images and videos from their website to get a better sense of what the event is. https://vangoghexpo.com/tucson. The first rooms have Van Gough painting recreations alongside text about his life. While these recreations of Van Gough’s paintings don’t really do them justice\, as they are projections on flat canvas (colors are not very accurate\, there is no paint texture) the whole experience is less about appreciating fine art than it is about getting fun photo-ops and selfies with pretty backgrounds. It feels like a fun\, trippy art exhibit to appeal to the masses – not high-brow in any way. One of the best parts is a large room where you watch animated versions of Van Gough paintings projected across the walls and floor. When Starry Night is projected\, you can see little animated shooting stars. At points it feels a bit cheesy\, but all still fun. The optional 10 minute virtual reality bit at the end (additional $5/person) is definitely worth doing and just as fun as the large room with projections\, if not better.\n \nOpening hours: (time slots available every half hour)\nMonday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.)\nTuesday and Wednesday: closed\nFriday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSaturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.)\nSunday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.) \nDuration: approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes \nAll ages. (But kids will likely get bored.) \nBuy tickets

Service animals must be tethered at all times\, and must rest in the seating area with handler that is appropriate for animals size\, not in the aisles. Because our seating area has narrow rows\, we ask that patrons inform us prior to bringing a service animal to Centennial Hall\, so that we may reserve the best area for both patron and animal. Please contact the Box Office by calling 520-621-3341 for event-specific policies.
