Tucson Festival of Books

In its 15th year, the Tucson Festival of Books is one of the largest book festivals in the United States, and had over 130,000 attendees last year. The Tucson Festival of Books is a FREE community-wide celebration of literature at the University of Arizona.

To get the most out of this event, you will want to visit their website (tucsonfestivalofbooks.org) ahead of time and choose which events/activities you would like to see – there are so many! They also have an app available for download so you can navigate the festival and schedule of activities easily.

Festival activities include:

  • Author panels and workshops
  • Hundreds of exhibitors with literacy-focused booths and activities
  • Author Meets & Book Signings
  • Illustrator Demos
  • Sales of books and book-themed merch
  • Local Food/Drink vendors (good ones!)
  • Entertainment for families (Storybook character parade, circus performances, children’s author events, live music, activities etc.)
  • Science City (scientific demos, hands-on learning activities, etc.)
  • Culinary Stage (Authors demonstrate their techniques)
